Frequently asked questions

Is this social media?
No. The app, which works on a smartphone, tablet, or computer, does not connect users to other users. It is a “closed” environment, where teens can only talk to or direct message our trained staff. The app has links to teen-specific resources and health insurance-approved information. Tools and activities help teens manage stress, build social skills, and feel better about themselves.

Pyx Health is HIPAA compliant and HITRUST certified, which means we adhere to the strictest standards of data security in health care. We do not share data with ANY entity except the teen’s health insurance plan. You can read our terms and conditions and privacy policy before signing up.

Our Youth Engagement Specialists are overseen by a licensed clinician, and all calls are monitored for quality assurance. Training includes trauma-informed care, child welfare issues, crisis and de-escalation, social media strategies, bullying, and positive psychology techniques. There are also behavioral health technicians on staff for added support.
There’s no catch. Our services are offered at no cost, as another resource and support for wellbeing, by the health insurance plan that covers the teen.

That’s okay! Many teens like using the app because it’s on their phone, easy to use, and always available — day or night. But if they ever want to talk to a real person, they can call too. Both ways are safe and private.

Yes! We’re here for you with understanding, resources, and coaching to make family life better. Guardians and parents have full access to our staff via phone call or DM, as well as specialized activities to relieve stress and build resilience.
Our app is available in both English and Spanish. Many of our support staff are bilingual in English and Spanish. And for other languages, we use a professional translation service that is immediately available during phone calls.
